The children’s MMO space has been in need of something fresh and exciting for a long time and Amazing World is that game.
Intended for ages 6 and above the game lets you explore a unique and colourful world full of activities. It’s from the same developers that brought you Webkinz so you already know that you’re in for a great experience before you even start your adventure.
Like most of the other games in the genre Amazing World is browser based making it very accessible. To start you’ll select a cute little character known as a Zing which comes in three varieties designed after real life animals (bear, rabbit and cow). After dressing them and choosing an appropriate name you’ll get to start exploring Amazing World.
You’ll find yourself high in the sky on an airship while you are guided through a voice acted tutorial that introduces the controls and the menace of Amazing World, Queen Vexa. She’s the leader of the Nix who love to cause mischief but frighten easily and can be sent on their way by waving your arms wildly in front of them. This no violence approach to gameplay is perfect for younger gamers but still very fun and satisfying.
Once you land on Spring Bay below you’ll be introduced to some of the other activities the game offers like gardening, shopping, cooking, fishing, treasure hunting and many others. Each of these skills gain experience separately so players are always being rewarded for their efforts.
Amazing World is a very quest orientated experience which provides the structure that young children need but still offers plenty of freedom to run off and do your own thing if you’re comfortable in a MMO world. This balance is something that even big name MMOs often struggle with but Amazing World has nailed it.
No matter which way you decide to play the game there is so much to do in the world it’s bound to keep you entertained for an endless number of hours.
Amazing World is easily the best MMO for children. The game is beautifully presented, voice acted, packed full of content and extremely safe.
