As you might have guessed Gem Miner 2 is a sequel to the popular digging and exploration game of Gem Miner. At the core these games offer a very similar experience but the sequel adds a number of extras giving you more gameplay for your dollars.

Just like the original you’ll be using your trusty pickaxe to explore the underground caves in search of rare and precious minerals which you can then sell to improve your mining gear and repeat this process.  This isn’t as easy as it sounds though as you’ll have to carefully manage your resources and make proper use of your equipment to survive.

In Gem Miner 2 you will have to use supports to stop cave ins, use ladders to ensure you can make it back to the surface or even make use of dynamite to quickly clear an area. You will also have to watch out for the near endless hazards that you might encounter such as fire or unbreathable gas.

Instead of just digging endlessly to hunt for a single master gem like in the previous game you will now have over 60 missions (called expeditions) to complete with varying objectives and tools at your disposal. Most of these missions will have you hunting for a special item or requiring you to collect a certain amount of a particular material.

The original game version is now called Freeplay mode which lets you explore huge game maps and even features 6 difficulty levels. So players that found the original Gem Miner was on the easy side will now be able to push their mining skills.

If you love cave exploring and want something casual that will also provide countless hours of fun, check out what Gem Miner 2 has to offer.
