Might & Magic: Duel of Champions brings the popular fantasy universe to life in a collectible card game where players will mix hundreds of cards to create a unique strategy to overcome other players. While fans of the franchise will definitely enjoy the game more so than non-fans the game is still very approachable even if this is your first explore to Might & Magic.

Duel of Champions has a lot more depth than most games in this space but doesn’t ever feel overwhelming which ensures new comers to the genre won’t be completely out of their element. This is due in part to the well-structured tutorial and campaign which will set players of all skill levels up with a solid foundation of mechanics and game currency.

From this foundation players can begin to builder their perfect deck (from over 700 cards), complete the extensive campaign, battle against other players to raise your ELO or enter the regular tournaments for great prizes.

At the centre of your deck in Duel of Champions is your hero card, which is directly linked to one of the six game factions (Haven, Stronghold, Inferno, Necropolis, Sanctuary, and Academy) which each have their own style to combat. Your choice of hero card will also impact on the creatures and spells that you decide to fill up your deck with. This faction setup adds lots of replay value and depth as you master playing (and playing against) each different factions play style.

The game board is also fairly unique in terms of trading card games with 16 positions on the battlefield for players to place their melee units, ranged units and traps. Ultimately though you’re goal is to take your opponents hero card down to zero health.

Trading card game fans and Might & Magic fans alike will appreciate the depth of strategy the Duel of Champions brings to the table.

  • Multiple factions and hundreds of cards add lots of strategic depth.
  • Available on multiple platforms with some cross platform functionality.
