The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II
(User scores are recalculated daily)
Step right back into the shoes of Van Helsing with The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, a game that builds on the solid foundations of the original to offer a great action RPG experience.
A hero’s work is never done in the universe of Van Helsing with a new villain for the famous monster hunter to track down and slay for the good of the people. The adventure ahead is going to be a long and engaging one as you battle your way through plenty of quests and explore all sorts of eerie settings.
The same impressive atmosphere of the first game returns as players explore a world where gothic meets science and chaos.
If you’ve played the original Adventures of Van Helsing you’ll warm up to the pacing and style of gameplay in no time. One feature that has been expanded in particular is the tower defence mini game which has you holding your ground against waves of enemies by using strategic points, traps and more.
For fans of a more traditional RPG experience there is still plenty of meat to enjoy in terms of core gameplay and story. Players have the option to tackle this story as one of the three unique classes that fill fairly generic roles from the hunter who is master of both ranged and melee weaponry to the magic wielding Thaumaturge and the mechanic that wields the power of strange devices and arcane.
With their own deep skill system The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II focuses on improving on one of the major issues of the original (lack of skill depth) to ultimately give you more choice and control over your character.
In addition to the story players will have to manage their own Hunter’s Lair just like the original and even head the resistance movement by managing troops and their equipment. These side gameplay objectives help to break up your adventure and make the experience more interesting than most games in the genre.
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II does a great job of building on the original and also trying some fresh things in the genre. It still lacks significant end game options but the content around the story itself more than makes up for it.
- Plenty of gameplay improvements.
- Continues the great atmosphere that impressed players in the original.
- Protect your Hunter’s Lair, lead the resistance and complete the story.
- Better skill tree gives you more choice in your adventure.
- More loot than you can poke a stick at.
