Cell to Singularity Best Constellation Guide

Last Updated on August 23, 2026 by Samuel Franklin

Constellations are difficult but critical upgrades in the Beyond simulation that boost your currency production from your universe. This guide details how to earn Constellation Fragments to upgrade this mechanic and the best constellation order to maximise progression.

Constellation Fragments

Constellations are unlocked in Beyond after completing the core celestial bodies which unlocks the Forge The Asteroid belt objective where you will find the 12 initial constellations. Upgrading constellations requires Constellation Fragments (also known as Starbit/Star) which are earned from:

  • Completing Astronomy Missions (unlock additional mission slots and purchase the Darwinium slot to boost this)
  • Ranking up your Beyond currency generators like celestial bodies through regular simulation gameplay
  • Galactic Nursery purchases (100% chance from Blue Star and Black Hole)

Best Constellation Priority Order

As Constellation Fragments are slow to earn initially upgrading constellations in an efficient order is critical to progressing the Beyond simulation. There are 38 constellations in total split between Zodiac, Southern and Northern which require 516 fragments to max.

Constellation upgrades focus on bottlenecks to progression and acquiring broad boosts for the major Beyond generators. This is my recommended priority order, save your fragments if a particular constellation is not available yet:

Constellation (No. of Stars) Location Effect / Notes
Constellation_ScorpioScorpio (17) Zodiac Type_Celestial_BodyIncreases Celestial Body Speed by x1.5

While one of the more expensive constellations this broad effectiveness to your core planets as this rank is the best priority.

Constellation_GeminiGemini (17) Zodiac Increase Research Boost by +1x while boost is active

Research missions are a major bottleneck to Beyond progression and this increases the speed while you are boosted which is highly effective for the rewards.

Constellation_LibraLibra (6) Zodiac Type_MoonIncreases Moon speed by x2

Moons start to unlock at Rank 6 Beyond and will be your largest generators at this time that makes doubling speed important.

Constellation_SagittariusSagittarius (14) Zodiac Type_Dwarf_PlanetIncrease Dwarf Planet speed by ×2

Dwarf planets unlock at Rank 11 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_AquariusAquarius (15) Zodiac Type_Oort_Cloud_ObjectIncrease Oort Cloud Object speed by ×2

Oort Cloud Objects unlock at Rank 16 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_EridanusEridanus (30) Southern Type_Interstellar_ObjectIncrease Interstellar Object speed by ×1.5

Interstellar Objects unlock at Rank 18 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_Canis_MajorCanis Major (13) Southern Type_ExoplanetIncrease Exoplanet speed by ×2

Exoplanets unlock at Rank 20 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_PerseusPerseus (19) Northern Type_NebulaIncrease Nebula speed by x2

Nebulas unlock at Rank 22 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_HerculesHercules (21) Northern Type_Milky_Way_GalaxyIncrease Milky Way Galaxy speed by x2

Milky Way Galaxy unlocks at Rank 25 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_OphiuchusOphiuchus (20) Northern Type_GalaxyIncrease Galaxy speed by x2

Galaxy unlocks at Rank 27 Beyond and become key generators.

Constellation_CentaurusCentaurus (30) Southern Set all White Dwarf missions duration to 24 hours

Caps the mission time of the harder research missions to farm these boosts which become stronger with each rank.

Constellation_AurigaAuriga (9) Northern Set all Red Dwarf missions duration to 6 hours

Caps the mission time of the harder research missions to farm these boosts which become stronger with each rank.

Player Preference N/A With all the key constellation boosts unlocked future upgrades should target your strongest generators which will be determined by your upgrades and trait cards
