This Idleon 3D printer guide provides a sampling setup checklist to maximise printer samples, guidance on what to print with each character and how to reach maximum sample rate (90%). Unlocked in World 3 the 3D printer is one of the most important game mechanics as it can automate the collection of skilling and combat resources for various account upgrades.

3D Printer Basics (Unlock & Take Sample)
The 3D printer is unlocked in World 3 construction top row with each additional level unlocking a new character specific printing slot. In order to take a sample players must use the Printer Sampling star talent by completing the Hoggindaz quests (Icecream NPC in World 3 town) which will take a sample % (max 90%) of your current activity (skilling and fighting).
These printer samples are stored in each characters printing storage space. Each character starts with 4 printing spaces and more can be unlocked from the Gem Shop allowing you to store a greater variety of printer samples.
Each character starts with one printer chamber where you can select the sampled resource you want that character to provide which are automatically deposited into your storage chest every hour. There is a Gem Shop purchase to unlock a second printing chamber for each character and one of the best gem shop purchases available given it doubles the output of each character.
What To Print With Each Character
Certain characters are more effective at specific prints and once players unlock the Atom Collider in construction you will also want to prioritise the easiest printing resources for each character to maximise item gains, particularly Oak Logs (Mages) and Copper Ore (Warriors).
This is my recommended use of each character class for printing. It maximises each character strengths and uses your beginner and Hunter classes to focus on printing refinery materials as they have no specialised skill resource for printing. Later game when your focus is atoms a Copper Ore print on your beginner and archer characters can help generate atoms. Add your own specific account needs to this list such as alchemy bubbles, stamps, vials or resources for anvil crafting.

Sample Rate Sources
Sample size is based on your normal monster or skilling gains and your sampling rate % which is capped at 90%. Reaching the cap from these sources is important and I recommend the following approximate priority order with a little bit from all sources most efficienct:

The bonuses above are seperate to printer output which has a few bonuses available in later game worlds which multiply any resources printed. There are also bonuses that increase printer output for everyday you don’t resample which are designed to reduce the need to resample regularly as it can take significant time across all characters.
3D Printer Checklist (Skilling & Combat)
These are general sources of skilling efficiency and combat boosts to consider before taking samples and will depend slightly on your specific account. These are listed in my recommended priority order as after talents, cards, food, alchemy and prayers the additional boosts take a long time to setup relative to the boost.
