Bubba the Chonky Seal is the World 3 incremental clicker accessed from the Codex that provides bonuses to construction build rate, trapping critters, soul gain, damage, monster kills, XP and atom costs. An optimised Bubba strategy with the best gifts is critical to maximising these bonuses with several hidden mechanics that can rapidly improve progression and prevent you being stuck on a particular Megaflesh upgrade.
This page includes general Bubba tips, explanation of specific hidden mechanics to use and a walkthrough of each Megaflesh upgrade to follow which should be combined with the wiki Bubba information.

Bubba Basics & Tips
Bubba follows a familiar formula to Orion the Owl and Poppy the Kangaroo with players making strategic upgrade decisions to minimise time taken and maximise upgrades for the rest of the game. Bubba is the hardest clicker game to optimise though as it has extra mechanics with hidden aspects that are not initially obvious:
- Always Save ‘Open Gifts’ Upgrade: The Bubba gameplay loop relies on boosting your base meat income through upgrades to particular thresholds before rapidly opening up gifts at high Bubba happiness levels (using double pat) to reach the required meat for a Megaflesh reset.
- Double Pat Mechanic: Every hour players can pat Bubba by clicking/tapping on Bubba and this countdown is visible by clicking on the Happi Boi upgrade. By patting Bubba a few seconds before this reset timer you can double the amount of times you can pat Bubba which is used when you open gifts for massive meat gains.
- Smoker Mechanic: The Bubba smoker is fundamental to progress as it multiplies your meat gains and unlocked from Megaflesh 5. It’s important to balance each of the 5 smoker meats as while they increase in power left to right they multiply with each other. Check the current smoker time by pressing the smoker upgrade and claim approximately every 13 hours. If you need to balance your meats the ideal claim times to maximise the chance for each meat left to right is 0 hours, 7 hours, 10 hours, 13 hours and 16 hours.
- Dice Mechanic: Roll your dice regularly once unlocked to improve your max dice roll as the price resets every hour. Before Megaflesh 5 stop rerolling when you have a higher multiplier, after Megaflesh 5 worse rolls are ignored so you can endlessly reroll without risk.
- Patience: Bubba requires significantly more patience than the other clicker games as it can be easy to lock yourself out of further progress. Follow this guide and read the mechanics carefully to ensure you can progress.
- Upgrade Vault Bonus: The Upgrade Vault has a Bubba meat multiplier that dramatically reduces the time to reach the later Megaflesh levels.
- Save Time Skips: Bubba time skips are occasionally available from Idleon events these are most effective to save until you unlock the smoker upgrade as this is the largest waiting mechanic of Bubba.
- Spread Bubba Upgrades: It’s safe to level the core Bubba upgrades equally to progress (1st Slice, Happi Boi, Good Meat, Bargain, Buyer Grin, Charisma, 2nd Slice, Great Meat, Super Chart) which is a convenient way to simplify Bubba gameplay.
- Min-Max Bubba Upgrades: If you want to min-max your Bubba upgrades which will reduce the time to earn a Megaflesh but complicate your decisions then only buy Bargain when the discount it provides to Megaflesh is more than its cost. For meat upgrades 2nd Slice should be around three times the cost of 1st Slice and Great Meat should be two times the Good Meat cost. Levelling everything is still important though as your first Megaflesh scales based on total purchases
Megaflesh Strategies
Below are the specific steps to progress through each Megaflesh. Each one requires you reach a specific base income which is what is shown in the Bubba UI without any happiness pats and does not consider if you have the World 7 Mr Minehead upgrade that reduces all Bubba costs by 2 which allows you to progress with lower income levels.
Megaflesh refers to the current number of Megaflesh bonuses are on the right hand side of your Bubba UI. Quick links for each Megaflesh (MF): MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, MF6, MF7, MF8 and MF9.
Megaflesh 2
Megaflesh 2 is the first time you’ll need to use the double pat strategy to unlock the Megaflesh upgrade in a reasonable time. Importantly before progressing you must buy Fun Gift level 2 so you can pick both gifts in your next run as the reward from this Megaflesh is picking two gifts each time.
Megaflesh 3 – Target 10M/minute
- Pick gift 1 and 2 as you can now pick two gifts.
- Once Charisma is unlocked get level 45 Hustle and Rizz then level 15 Joy. Any upgrades after this level Hustle/Rizz equally.
- You must buy Fun Gift 3 before progressing as the third upgrade is critical to next Megaflesh but this is purchased during your open gift spam.
- Once you reach the target meat of 10M/minute prepare a double pat and open enough gifts to buy Fun Gift 3 and Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 4 – Target 500M/minute
- Pick gift 1 and 3
- For Charisma Hustle max, level 27 Joy and then Rizz max.
- When you nearly have enough meat for More Dice start saving as this is a significant boost.
- Hourly Dice Rolls are now critical to reaching the next Megaflesh but stop once you have a good multiplier.
- Once you reach the target meat of 500M/minute swap Charisma to Rizz which should already be max level. Even at max level though your gift 3 Numbahs will add an extra level beyond the 120 max level to help reach the next Megaflesh.
- Prepare a double pat and open enough gifts to buy Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 5 – Target 30B/minute
- Pick gift 1 and 3
- For Charisma Hustle Max, Joy level 50 and then Rizz max.
- As Megaflesh 5 means lower dice rolls are now ignored you need to be rolling at least once an hour for every Megaflesh from here on and eventually twice when the cost is not significant to your current income level. Note that unfortunately some lower rolls will override your dice due to the way this is checked but the reductions are only minor until a higher roll appears.
- Save up for More Dice again once it is within reach for a massive boost.
- Save up for Smoker when it is within reach as well.
- Smoker is a massive boost to Bubba meat production and as noted in the tips section target 13 hour smokes as this optimises the variety of meats with a focus on higher meat types. If you are missing a particular meat type you can target farm it with the timeframes in the tip section as balancing meat types is important.
- Same as last Megaflesh once you reach the target meat of 30B/minute swap Charisma to Rizz which should already be max level for Numbahs bonus.
- Prepare a double pat and open enough gifts to buy Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 6 – Target 600B/minute
- Pick gift 1 and 3
- This Megaflesh introduces a new important mechanic known as Emulsify that boosts a Charisma bonus by 3x when selected which alters our previous Charisma strategies.
- For Charisma Mindful max first as this is a significant chance to get 2x the upgrades when purchasing the core Bubba upgrades. Always Emulsify Mindful when purchasing upgrades.
- Given level 120 on Mindful you won’t be able to push the other Charisma levels as high as this is a time gated mechanic but aim for Hustle 50, Joy 25 and then the rest in Rizz.
- Rotate Emulsify to Hustle to improve meat generation but swap back to Mindful before purchasing. Eventually if purchases become too expensive you can Emulsify Rizz instead for a few extra levels.
- Save up for More Dice again once it is within reach for a massive boost.
- Save up for Smoker when it is within reach as well and follow the same Smoker strategy as past MFs.
- This is the first Megaflesh where More Dice level 2 becomes possible so save up for that upgrade when within reach and Emulsify Rizz to make it cheaper. Regularly hourly dice rolls become even more important from this point onwards.
- Once at 600B/minute income this Megaflesh is one of the hardest to do the double pat mechanic as there are a few steps so read carefully before starting.
- Before double pat you must Emulsify Joy as this will significantly increase the happiness boost from pats then you want to swap your Emulsify back to Hustle to give significant meat income and then lastly you want to click once on Rizz (but not twice as this will Emulsify it incorrectly). This single click Rizz is so that the Numbahs gift can trigger on Rizz while you keep Hustle Emulsified while buying enough gifts to buy the Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 7 – Target 70T/minute
- Pick gift 1 and 3 with this Megaflesh using mechanics you have used before.
- For Charisma Mindful max first again then Hustle, Joy and lastly Rizz. Target a Hustle/Rizz/Joy/Courage/Mindful/Savvy of 80/100/30/0/120/0 with any extra levels in Rizz.
- Remember to swap Emulsify for the task with Mindful being critical when buying upgrades.
- Unlock More Dice and Smoker as they become available following the same strategies as past MFs.
- This is the first Megaflesh where you will be able to unlock Uber Gifts and Cost Saver that are useful to pushing.
- Importantly you must buy Gift 5 before progressing as it will replace gift 3 (Numbahs) for future runs so this will be done during your double pat and open gift push.
- Once at 70T/minute income follow the MF6 reset process carefully again, purchase gift 3 during this and then buy the Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 8 – Target 3Q/minute
- From now on pick gift 1 and 5 instead as Slabcakes increases Smoker progression
- For Charisma Mindful max first again then Hustle, Joy and lastly Rizz target 80/100/30/0/120/0 again.
- Remember to move Emulsify as required, roll dice regularly and optimise Smoker as the mechanics become available. Some luck with gift 5 can significantly speed up progress here.
- More Dice level 3 will be possible now but will need you to buy 2-4 gifts to reach it so this should be only done towards the end when you are ready to make your larger Megaflesh push.
- Only after rolling a good dice from the above step will you be able to reach the 3Q/minute target necessary. Follow the MF7 reset process carefully again and then buy the Megaflesh upgrade.
Megaflesh 9 Onwards
MF9 onwards is a notable shift in Bubba strategy as the Big Tenderloin unlocks a 75% chance to get a free meat when upgrading the Smoker that removes the largest waiting period of Bubba. You can tell if a free meat has been triggered as the timer on upgrade will not reset to zero after purchase so continue to buy it until it resets. These steps below can be repeated for all Megafleshes and combined with either the Bubba Calculator from the official Discord or the Bubba Optimiser to determine when to do your final push as the number of variables and external Bubba boosts makes it difficult to determine a target meat income.
- Gift 1 and 5 continue to the be the Bubba best gifts.
- Minimise upgrades to 1st Slice and Good Meat (50 or less) as these only boost meat gain slightly and holding the purchases are useful to generate coins later on with the Spare Coins Bubba upgrade which you will now reach during a reset.
- Target the same Charisma splits as previous Megafleshes but add Savvy (level 10-20) for coins when you reach Cost Saver upgrade.
- All other Bubba mechanics and strategies are the same as the other Megafleshes.
