The Equinox Valley is a secret World 3 area unlocked with the Equinox Mirror that drops from Bloodbones with unique challenges and powerful account upgrades. With each upgrade being more expensive this guide details the best upgrade priorities, tips for the harder challenges and ways to increase Equinox bar fill rate.
I recommend all players unlock this location as soon as possible to start earning Equinox bar power, complete the initial challenges and unlock access to the four resources here that are used in powerful vials. In World 7 this mechanic is expanded with even harder challenges known as Equinox Nightmares which is unlocked from the Research table (G8).

Equinox Valley Best Upgrades
Purchasing the best Equinox Valley upgrades is important as after each upgrade it will take longer to fill the bar and eventually it can take weeks to earn a single upgrade. Prioritising the impactful upgrades means you can reach the Equinox max level and faster overall Idleon account progression.
My recommended upgrades and level are below as it is possible through the World 6 Summoning skill to increase the Equinox max level of most options. Initially this max level depends on your completed Equinox challenges so adjust these recommendations to your own account progress. Refer to the wiki page for the bonus effects, requirements and max level information.

 Equinox Dreams |
This upgrade unlocks extra cloud challenges. I recommend only purchasing this once or twice though so you have two/three cloud challenges to focus on. This ensures you can skip some of hardest Equinox challenges initially and still progress but limits the initial upgrades spent here.
There is actually little benefit to having 5 potential cloud challenges at once as they gradually get harder so if you are blocked by two or three clouds its likely the next few challenges will also be roadblocks. Check the wiki to determine if this is the case for your account specifically though. This approach will save a few Equinox upgrades initially to be spent on other valuable options. |
 Equinox Resources |
Each of the Equinox resources has a powerful alchemy vial. These resources also can be a potential greenstack which some Equinox challenges are based on and are used in some anvil equipment crafts.
Use your 3D printer to accumulate the Marble Ore, Willow Logs, Equinox Fish and Dream Particulate as you cannot AFK in the Equinox Valley. |
 Equinox Symbols |
This increases the level of all class talents by one which will dramatically boost damage and skilling output. It is also useful utility when you unlock new class upgrades as a single point in a talent can turn into multiple talent points.
As the max level of this upgrade increases it is always the number one priority. |
 Liquidvestment |
This is important for the Bubonic Conjuror to Cranium Cooking farm without having to check the game constantly as excess liquids will be stored for liquid cap and rate investment to significantly boost alchemy progression.
If you can’t play active for long periods (e.g. mobile player) then skip this upgrade. |
 Faux Jewels |
A simple but powerful Equinox upgrade as drop rate is always useful for rare drop and card farming. This is an upgrade to always push to the max level available. |
 Nonstop Studies |
A powerful boost to World 7 research experience gain which speeds up this heavily time based mechanic. This upgrade only becomes available after unlocking the Equinox Nightmares with the various challenges also massively boosting the max level of this upgrade. |
 Matching Scims |
A strong damage source as this a multiplicative source. If damage is holding you back from progression then a few points here before some of the upgrades above can be worth considering for your account. It has a high max level though so don’t prioritise over Equinox Symbols or Faux Jewels. |
 Metal Detector |
An important upgrade to the World 5 Gaming skill this guarantees you will eventually increase your golden nugget size which is a key multiplier to Gaming bit currency. I recommend at least one point initially to activate this mechanic and then keep this at level 6 (the initial maximum level) as this is more than enough to progress Gaming. After unlocking World 7 legend talents consider adding more Equinox points here if you still need Gaming progress as there is a talent that stops your nugget resetting. |
 Slow Roast Wiz |
An important upgrade to boost tower defence damage potential and reach high wave levels. The initial max level of 5 is enough to reach sufficient worship waves with enough construction progress though so don’t over invest here. |
 Shades of K |
1 point here is useful as this adds the Killroy respawn upgrade that can help reach higher kill counts for Equinox challenges and improve Skulls earned. Further points unlock two weaker Killroy upgrades (Dungeon and Pearl drops) that are a low priority and can be skipped. |
 Food Lust |
Another upgrade where one point has some value as you can upgrade meals you wouldn’t be able to otherwise by accumulating random event boss kills.
There is a World 6 mechanic (No Meal Left Behind) which makes it possible to max all meals with enough time though so this is a one point upgrade at most and can even be skipped entirely without significant impact. |
 Voter Rights |
Multiplies the World 2 Bonus Ballet for the week although as players have little control over the bonus and most of the bonuses are small this is not worth considering until your Equinox is significantly progressed. |
 Laboratory Fuse |
Not necessary for players to maximise the World 4 laboratory so should be skipped with no upgrades invested here. |
Equinox Cloud Challenge Tips
While all the cloud challenges will test your account progression there are some particularly difficult challenges or ones that have unique solutions. While the Equinox Nightmares are even harder the challenges themselves are relatively straightforward as they revolve around reaching significant progress in different game mechanics. These are my recommended cloud tips:

Peapeapod requires progress in World 4 pets so a slightly earlier alternative is a double Looter setup with Sandy Pot and Mamooth but requires luck given the randomisation of Looter genetic.
