This guide details how to use the powerful pet tokens from Idleon events and the best pets for free to play or paying players. Using these rare tokens correctly can be a massive buff to your Idleon account but can be confusing given the huge number of pet options, budgets and account progression stages.

Pet Token Overview
The Pet Token is an event item which allows players to claim a free copy of any Idleon pet and receive the pet bonus. This Pet Token item does not give an actual copy of the pet so it cannot be assigned as a follower or traded.
Pet Tokens have been available during the following events allowing for a current maximum of 2 free pets:
- Summer Break Event (22 June 2026)
- Cropfall Event (30 August 2026)
Pet Tokens are refunded and can used again if players acquire the pet it was used on through purchase or trade. Pets that currently are using your tokens are shown in the pet bonus menu with a heart icon.
How To Use Pet Tokens
To use a Pet Token:
- Farm a Pet Bonus Token during the event period by defeating any monster as they have a high drop rate. The actual Pet Bonus Token item will continue to drop multiple times during an event but are limited to one use per event.
Ensure ‘2x Tap Player to See Info’ is activated in the options menu- Find a player in the world that has your desired pet following them. Visit popular servers like Pizza 1 and locations like towns.

Pet Tokens are one of the most important Idleon account decisions as they give free to play players access to incredibly strong pets that are unobtainable otherwise. While for paying players they will save money or give access to rare limited time exclusive pets that are difficult to trade for.
Given the large bonuses and limited number I recommend players consider long term value for their account over short term bonuses. These are my recommended priority pets in order for players and the considerations to overlay with your own account:

3x Total Damage, 5x Class EXP gain, 1.5x Drop Rate | Buffing three valuable Idleon stats Glunko The Massive is a valuable option for a Pet Token for both free and paid players. Damage, Class EXP and Drop Rate are useful at all stages of gameplay and as multipliers these boosts will grow alongside your account.
Even for paying Idleon players Glunko can be difficult to acquire as it was a limited time event and giveaway exclusive that makes it unavailable to new players and expensive to trade other pets for. |
 Verminous |
+10,000% additive Gold Food bonus effect and 1.50x multiplier to Gold Food | My next recommendation for Pet Token is the large rat pet for golden food bonuses. With a mixture of additive and multiplier effect this pet is useful early and end game for gold food stats like AFK Gain, Drop Rate and All Stat.
Don’t underestimate this pet as gold food on my end game account with this pet has 100k% gold food effect. This makes gold food 40% of my total drop rate, 50% of my total character stat, and 50% of my total AFK gains. This is strong for free to play and paid players as this is an event exclusive pet that will be hard to obtain even for paying players. |
 Poppy |
2x bonuses from Bonus Ballot and Multi Meritocracy | There is no doubt that there are occasionally very powerful unique bonuses in these World 2 and World 7 voting based mechanics and Poppy helps to capitalise on these when they arrive. This pet is more valuable to highly active players that want to min-max during these weeks but I personally prefer the simple always active bonuses of Verminous and Glunko.
If you have either of the above pets already or want to put your faith in the votes of the community this is a good pet for free to play and paying players as once again its an event exclusive that is difficult to obtain. |
These four pets will cover free to play players for the current available pet tokens.
For paying players that already have the above and need more recommendations I would review your missing pets and focus on pets that are difficult to obtain exclusives that are not available through gem bundles that you might eventually buy. You can temporarily use your tokens on these pets though until the bundle returns and get the Pet token refunded as a strategy though.
