Master the Royal Guardian and boost your World 7 progression with this masterclass guide for talent priority and kingdom optimisation. As the Commander of the King’s Legion this class specialises in the Spelunking skill while reclaiming the world map for unique resources to spend on account upgrades.
The Royal Guardian can be unlocked in World 6 at character level 600 by talking to Masterius at Troll Playground and reaching a 250 Orb of Remembrance score at World 1 Beans. The Royal Guardian (RG) expands on our Divine Knight guide and other Idleon class builds.

Damage/Kingdom Build
Use this talent build on your active/damage preset to maximise your Kingdom progression while fighting as the Royal Guardian. Be careful with talent points as they are limited initially and leverage the multiple Royal Guardians on your account if following our recommended character order.
The best sources of initial Royal Guardian talent points are the Death Bringer and Wind Walker upgrades for masterclass talent points. Other sources include the World 6 merit shop, Spelunking shop, 10th Spelunking boss, The Royal Armour and the Orblet Shop.
Place at least 1 talent point in each talent first as each offers something useful such as accessing different stores to spend currency or adding new active functions. Focus on building your Kingdom first and then pushing for other account bonuses with this approximate priority order depending on your current objective:

 Lil’ Orblets |
The Orb drops 1 orblet every 1,000 kills, with a % chance to drop two. Use this talent to open the Orblet shop! | Improve your Orblet rate with this upgrade. Orblets have useful boosts like Royal Guardian talent points, resource collection, a glorification upgrade mechanic to outposts and a bargain discount for the Royal Armory and other masterclasses. The first upgrades in each buff are cheap and highly effective. |

Monsters in outposts drop Marble 1x more often | Marble is not an early priority in Royal Guardian progress as it takes a long time to farm but is eventually useful for statue progression. I do recommend farming enough initially in each world to unlock the powerful Royal Statues at the Royal Castle though. |
An example of how to setup two Royal Guardians on your account:
- Active Royal Guardian: 1 point in active talents (Guardian Disciple/Regal Intervention/Orb of Verisimilitude/Lil’ Orblets) > Warbound Politics (push for new outposts) OR Guardian Disciple (Farm Orblets) OR Aesthetic Politics (farm Marble)
- AFK Royal Guardian: Industrial Politics > Castle Convene > Royal Armoury
Kingdom Progression Guide & Tips
The Royal Guardian Kingdom mechanic requires players to reclaim maps in the game world, develop outposts and extract resources from nearby resource nodes to invest in the Royal Armory for bonuses such as:
- Statue Flair and Marble: Boosts your statue deposit EXP significantly (up to 25x)
- Royal Statues: Access the Royal Castle for unique Royal Statues with multiplicative boosts to EXP and Drop Rate.
- Large Account Multipliers: Choose from Construction Speed, Research EXP, Spelunking Stamina Regeneration and Minehead Currency.
- Prisma Bubble Fragments: Extra Prisma bubble upgrades building further on the Arcane Cultist.
Initial Royal Guardian Boosts: World 7 Advice Fish, Sushi tiers 60-63, Research L3 and Zenith Cluster bonuses all buff the Royal Guardian mechanics. There is also a limited time arcade shop rotation and the Premium Legion Commander Hat.
Outposts: The heart of your kingdom is outposts which can be established on nearly every world map by defeating monsters on that map actively or eventually commanding Militia to claim them for you which is the only method to reclaim maps without monsters such as the Copper ore Tunnels Entrance. Maps that have not been claimed yet will show with a skull on the world map and should be your initial Royal Guardian priority as extra outposts will give higher resources.
Resources: Once an outpost is claimed it can be connected to a resource node on the world map screen by selecting the Collect Resource icon and creating a trade route between the resource and the map location. These resources are limited but there is a resource node reset (Resource Replenish) within the Royal Armory (7th upgrade).
Outpost Upgrades: Once Upgrade Outposts Tool is unlocked use the Upgrade Outposts button on the map to boost outposts. Prioritise Expanded Barracks first to 3 units and only upgrade Advanced Logistics later if you need extra pixels to reach a resource node at that point as there are other pixel range upgrades available in the Royal Armory.
Use Traders Early: Traders are unlocked from Royal Armory upgrade 11 and should be used on all outposts to level them up initially. While this slightly lowers resource gain this long term investment is worthwhile for Trader Rank at outposts until you unlock other unit types from the Royal Armory.
Royal Armory: Access the Royal Armory by using the talent on your attack bar. New upgrades are unlocked based on your total Royal Armory upgrades. Focus on the cheapest upgrades and use your daily masterclass discounts from Legend Talents to unlock new mechanics as most upgrades have only a single purchase or scale rapidly in cost.
Outpost Priority: Prioritise pushing for outposts first as these are the foundation of kingdom upgrades. Initially you will only be able to reclaim monster maps until you unlock Militia in the Royal Armory that can claim maps without monsters like the Copper Ore Tunnels Entrance. Late World 2 the map requirements for outposts are high so consider spending your active Royal Guardian time farming Orblet or Marble rather than inefficiently pushing these maps (use your Militia instead).
Orblet Farming & Priority
With limited talent points that Royal Guardian can’t do everything at once so swap between outpost clearing, Orblet farming, marble farming and Royal Castle fighting. After unlocking all World 1 outposts and claiming the Tyson outpost (unlocks a new resource) I recommend swapping to Orblet farming for the upgrades in the Orblet Shop while your Militia claim the remainder of World 2 due to the high kill counts.
Best Orblet Farming Map: World 1 Beans is the best source as you can get high orb count and use high level Guardian Disciple to spawn more valuable mobs on each platform. Place any remaining points in Lil’ Orblets to improve the number of Orblets per cycle. The L3 World 7 Research upgrade also helps with this as it increases the value of each Regal Mob for your orb count.
Orblet Upgrade Priority: There are 8 different Orblet upgrades available, I recommend prioritising Hydration (2nd upgrade) for extra resource collection initially as it is a cheap increase to resource gain and eventually pushing to focus on upgrade 8 which is Bargain for cheaper Masterclass upgrades to reduce the price of Royal Armory upgrades.
First Glorification: This Orblet upgrade adds 10 Points, 2x rank EXP and 1 worker to an outpost in exchange for Orblets. This needs to be used at least once to access other Orblet upgrades and only has a chance to work. In order to progress past this upgrade to Bargain I recommend attempting glorification on Echoing Egress or the Motherlode Pit if accessible as these can access the large wheat upgrade which is used in many core upgrades while also reaching the spider web resources.
Marble Farming & The Royal Castle
Marble is another Royal Guardian currency which is dropped when farming monsters in a claimed outpost and you will earn some passively while Orblet farming. To obtain the necessary marble for upgrades though you will need to focus on farming this by maxing the Aesthetic Politics talent with the remaining talent points in Guardian Disciple or Lil’ Orblets to still earn some Orblets.
Unlock Marble: Each world has a specific Marble type which is used to upgrade different statues and unlock the respective world Royal Statue in the Royal Castle.
Best Marble Farming Map: The best maps for marbling farming are the same as statue farming to maximise monsters killed and statue farm at the same time.
Marble Priority: Always unlock the Royal Statue for that world first as these are large multipliers to Total Damage (W1), Drop Rate (W2), and Extra Kills (W3). Extra marble should be invested in the strongest statues for Statue Flair at the Statue Man such as Mining, Feasty, Lumberbob, Oceanman and Ol Reliable.
Royal Castle: Access this location by using the Castle Convene attack talent and invest marble to unlock royal statues. These levels can be boosted further by farming the Verminous rats here that drop Parchments of Enhancement to enhance Royal Statues if the respective Royal Armory upgrade is purchased.
Spelunking Build
The skilling talents of the Royal Guardian will boost your Spelunking progression and can be on your skilling (mining) preset to activate before doing Spelunking activities. These are the priority talents although it depends on your current focus area and broader Spelunking progression so reset talent points as necessary.
