byMy Singing Monsters Breeding Guide Chart – MSM All Monsters
This ultimate updated My Singing Monsters breeding guide chart features all monsters and their respective pictures for the popular MSM mobile/computer based monster collection and island customisation title. With the core objective to fill out the respective game islands and your monster collection book knowing how to breed every monster efficiently will save you a significant amount of time and game currencies to reach this end goal. Breeding all monsters available in My Singing Monsters also has the benefit of giving players a greater monster pool to draw from when designing your various musical compositions, access to higher coin earning monsters, the ability trigger a greater number of monster likes combinations, stronger monsters for the combat Collossingum and an extended range of visual customisation options for your islands when friends visit.
Combined with the fact that you’ll unlock breeding within your first hour of game time players will constantly be breeding the hundreds of monsters with this MSM breeding guide chart serving as an invaluable reference from start to finish. While the common monsters in My Signing Monsters are generally easy to obtain when players opt to start completing their collection you’ll need careful breeding optimisation and even gems to complete your collection. On this page you’ll find an overview of breeding mechanics, tips and separate tables for each monster type to help you focus on your current monster collection objectives as you progress.
My Singing Monsters Breeding Overview & Tips
The basics of breeding in My Singing Monsters has players utilising the breeding structure that is unlocked early on which allows you to pair two monsters together that are level 4 or higher to create an offspring. Your choice of monster is critical in this breeding mechanic as the potential outcome is based on the combination of parent monsters selected and careful selection can improve your chances and minimise the total breeding time required. In general players will find that common element based monsters have multiple pathways to acquisition while rarer monsters will require increasingly specific combinations or be part of a large pool of potential outcomes that lower the overall chances of obtaining them.
The vast majority of normal common monster breeding is based on the elements that show underneath your monsters with the hunt for double, triple and quad element monsters creating a puzzle for players as to how you mix and match the right combination of elements from your current monster pool. Mechanics differ somewhat between these different monster tiers with common doubles allowing players to guarantee specific monsters by not repeating an element in the parents although triples and quads do not have the same guarantees. This dramatically increases the effort involved in obtaining these monster variants with rare and epic levels further complicating breeding due them being event limited.
With this in mind much of your MSM breeding optimisation comes from avoiding the creation of duplicate monsters as these are generally a waste of your limited breeding time and structures. Further optimisation comes from purchasing additional breeding structures (or upgrading them to enhanced versions with diamonds to reduce breeding time by 25%) while focusing heavily on time efficient breeding combinations to obtain the MSM monsters you desire. These combinations are efficient when a failure to obtain the monster you wanted still results in a quick breeding time which allows you to quickly try again given breeding cannot be cancelled once started (although can be sped up with diamonds). MSM breeding time can also be used as an indicator of what players have just breed prior to finishing the breeding process as most monsters have a unique breeding time that players can use to determine if they have been successful in their intended goal.
In addition to this the rarer special monsters (Ethereals, Shugabush, Mythicals and Seasonals) throw this element combination out the window and generally have specific two monster combinations instead along with extra layers of difficulty. To maximise your odds for these monsters players will instead have to rely on lighting the Wishing Torches across your islands with diamonds or visiting friends although players need to be aware that most of these are also not always readily available to breed as they are also event limited. Note that while costumes appear on the book of monsters screen and are primarily obtained from breeding the chances of obtaining them cannot be increased or targeted beyond focusing on breeding the monster you want the costume for that makes them rarely a focus for players.
To learn more about the different types of monsters and elements players can refer to the My Singing Monsters wiki page or our individual guides for Plant Island, Cold Island, Air Island, Water Island, Earth Island, Fire Haven and Fire Oasis.
My Singing Monsters Breeding Chart Guide – All Monsters
Below are reference breeding guide tables that players can use to help in effectively breeding their current monster goal and is split based on groups of breeding elements and rarities to create several MSM breeding chart resources. It also includes monsters that cannot be bred and notes their alternative acquisition methods (often a direct purchase using one of the game currencies).
Note that for some monsters there are multiple breeding recipes available with the one featured here the best option based on the MSM breeding times of the outcomes or one that is only marginally longer in time but due to parent monster accessibility or odds presents a better option. If you currently don’t have the necessary monsters for the best breeding combination this is generally an indicator that at your current stage of progression you should be focusing on different monsters first.
As a reminder to players when breeding:
- A monster must be level 4 or higher before it is available to breed (level does impact success chance but only for special monsters)
- Breeding result is not impacted by which monster you select first (left) and second (right) in the breeding menu.
- Rare, epic and special monster types can only be bred (or purchased) during specific game events.

Single Element Monsters (Common & Rare)
Single element monsters are available from the market store for gold coins with players utilising these as the foundation of their double element breeding. In general these monsters are the first you’ll be exposed to in My Singing Monsters and as a result require low investment to level up and breed. They are also often referred to as natural monsters due to their links to the base game elements of earth, water, cold, plant or air (fire has historically been a natural element although is currently considered separate).

Triple Element Monsters (Common & Rare)
Increasingly the difficulty of breeding in order to unlock these players will have to pair a single and double element monster together in order to unlock one of these at a common rarity. Meanwhile at the rare level you’ll want to take your common monster and pair it with the same single element monster used to acquire it in the first place in nearly all cases.

Triple Element Monsters (Epic)
Triple element monsters of an epic rarity feature a familiar design of changing based on the island and being only available during selected event times. Of the various elemental monster types the triple element group has a number of epics that have not yet been created by the developer with no timeframe of when (or if) they will be added.

Magical monsters provide players four new elements with psychic, faerie, bone and light to mix and match to create new common and rare monster collections (there are currently no epic magical monsters). Available only on their respective magical islands which are unlocked after players finish the natural and fire islands you’ll find a whole new level of diverse musical monsters. Like their natural cousins the common single elements are available to purchase from the market and form the basis of your breeding progression through magical monsters in MSM.

Ethereal Single Element Monsters (Common & Rare)
Ethereal are an entirely new breed of My Singing Monsters breedable monsters and once again up to difficulty to new heights for expert breeders with a success chance of around 1% outside of events. While they can each be bred and placed on one natural island they also have their own island (Ethereal Island) with elements including plasma, shadow, mech, crystal and poison. The rare variants of these are often referred to as Rarethereals in the MSM community.

Legendary Monsters (Shugafam & Werdos)
Legendary monsters are one of the unique groups in My Singing Monsters which include the Shugafam and Werdos. They are both unique in the MSM game world for the sounds they offer with Shugafam representing band members with real life musical instruments while Werdos sing lyrics. Shugafam are extremely difficult to unlock and rely on players first unlocking Shugabush that is used to unlock the remaining ones on Shugabush Island. Werdos on the other hand have no breeding option and are instead purchasable for the special relic game currency.

Mythical Monsters Single and Double Element (Common & Rare)
Once a PlayStation Vita exclusive these monsters were eventually brought to the other platforms of My Singing Monsters. They come in either mythical or dream elements which are bred with unique sets of monsters unlocked up until this point on specific islands for mythical while dream depends on breeding mythical with a market purchasable Cataliszt. This is a special group of monsters that are available all the time although an event known as Mythical Breeding Bonanzas significantly increases the breeding chances, there are currently no epic versions.
