Simplify your adventures and inventory management with this guide to the best equipment and accessories to keep and level up in NGU Idle. While most adventure zones come with new powerful item sets to equip there are some key items along the way that are worthwhile holding onto for their unique bonuses listed here. Note there are equipment and zone spoilers below.
Best Equipment & Accessories
For the vast majority of item progression in NGU Idle equip the current adventure set you have access to as they will generally have higher stats while also boosting a stat that is relevant at that stage of NGU Idle progression. Unlocking and levelling all items is also important for the item set completion bonuses. There are a small number of items that are worth saving though beyond when they are initially unlocked for their useful stats as levelled equipment is core to NGU Idle builds given it doesn’t reset on Rebirth.
Use the below guidance with the NGU Idle Gear Optimiser which is an invaluable tool to find the right equipment mix for your goals. When in doubt keep anything that is a rare drop with respawn, cooldown, NGU Speed, Wandoos and Advanced Training or available from a unique source (such as AP purchases) as everything else can be farmed again with some time commitment.

Tutorial | The Infinity Cube is a boost dump item that is always useful so don’t neglect to complete the 4G’s Merge and Boost Tutorial Cube! It also grows based on its stat total to give extra tier bonuses like drop chance, gold drops, hack speed and wish speed. |
 Forest Pendant (Accessory) |
Forest (initially) | The suspicious item description gives players a hint that this is a key item even though it’s unlocked early in your NGU Idle adventure from the Forest adventure.
There are multiple layers of ascensions to this pendant so it remains strong with high power and toughness for a long time. It is a good candidate for your Item Daycare before purchasing any of the AP hearts. Don’t focus too much on this initially in the Forest zone as it also drops in later adventure areas. |
 Triple Flubber (Accessory) |
Tutorial Zone | This item is made by combining the Lonely Flubber from the Tutorial Zone which is a hidden item that drops once players reach boss 59 with increasing drop odds up to boss 300.
Given this is a hidden item it is often overlooked by players but it is extremely powerful as it offers the rare and critical respawn stat while being the earliest acquisition source (other than the premium Green Heart). Obtaining this secret item also completes its set which gives 30k AP. Respawn is always strong as it increases adventure progression by reducing the time for a new opponent to spawn. These extra kills increase EXP, PP, QP, AP and item drops. |
 Stapler (Accessory) |
Third Titan (Jake From Accounting) | The second source of respawn you will have access to which comes after boss 82 that makes it a staple (pun intended) item at this stage. The power, HP and energy are also useful but this will eventually be replaced by other accessories. |
 Ring of Greed (Accessory) |
Fourth Titan (UUG, The Unmentionable) | The best of the respawn items given it also comes with a deadly mix of drop chance and gold drops. This will be an item you keep for a long time should be the most important priority to level of the 3 respawn items noted here. Eventually the stats like gold drop are dwarfed by later items though. |
 Green Heart (Accessory) |
Sellout Shop | All of the AP hearts have an important role to NGU Idle progression although most of them are strong for the level up bonus. The Green Heart is notable here as it has a respawn, drop chance and beard speed combination that are all key stats to make it powerful to equip as well. |
 Candy Corn Necklace (Accessory) |
Chocolate World | The Chocolate World area is available after boss 137 and has a useful mix of seed gain and NGU speed to reduce time taken for core gameplay mechanics.
It has the equal best seed gain stat in the game and while the NGU speed is eventually surpassed by other options it’s the best NGU speed item you can access for a while. |
 A Giant Apple (Accessory) |
Sixth Titan (The Beast) – Hard+ | Like the Candy Corn Necklace above the Apple has high seed gain and also has Yggdrasil Yield to help the seed and fruit grind given it has useful power that remains after Rebirth.
This item requires Hard+ The Beast titan kills. |
 A Bald Egg (Accessory) |
Sixth Titan (The Beast) | One of the most notable Wandoos build items given its availability quite early considering the amount of Wandoos Speed provided. It is a rare drop from this titan though so maximise drop chance while hunting.
With so few accessories with Wandoos Speed this can even be used long into progression. |
 Voodoo Doll (Accessory) |
Sixth Titan (The Beast) – Normal+ | A rare source of beard speed while also being the strongest option there are simply not many items that have this stat available. You will be farming The Beast for the items listed above anyway so it has good overlap with other key items while also having NGU speed.
Other strong sources are the Green Heart and Purple Heart that are both paid and the UUG’s ‘Special’ Ring but this requires finding all rings from fourth titan first. |
 The Stealthiest Armour (Chest) |
Boring-Ass Earth | One of the new notable non accessory items this is dropped from the Boring-Ass Earth adventure mode although it requires the Stealth set completion first.
This item is mostly unlocked for the NGU Speed but it does have some strong Energy and Magic stats too. |
