Tarkov Kind of Sabotage or Supply Plans (Skier/Therapist) Choice

Last Updated on January 7, 2024 by Samuel Franklin

The Kind of Sabotage or Supply Plans (Skier or Therapist) choice is one of several early game quest choices that force Tarkov players to choose between two different traders and rewards. Given the Rouble and reputation consequences it is a common fork in the road for the community that want reassurance on who to give the Folder 0052 quest item.

My recommendation is for all players to choose Skier (Kind of Sabotage) as his Rouble reward is significantly higher and his trader reputation gain is more useful to your EFT account progression. While this is slightly less experience gained compared to Therapist the difference is only one raid worth of PMC experience. Below I’ve summarised the rewards in a clear comparison table for players and dive deeper into why Skier is the clear choice based on my experience gained across multiple Escape From Tarkov wipes.

Table of Contents:

Best Choice (Skier or Therapist)

Kind of Sabotage and Supply Plans Rewards

After venturing into the heart of the Woods lumberyard and acquiring the Secure Folder 0052 from under the bed in the wooden cabin painted with a white 3 next to the entrance players have a choice for who to turn in the folder. Giving it to Skier completes Kind of Sabotage while giving it to Therapist completes Supply Plans with the following rewards:

Quest Reward Skier (Kind of Sabotage) Therapist (Supply Plans)
Experience 4,500 7,500
Trader Reputation +0.04 Skier +0.04 Therapist
Base Roubles 180,000 75,000
Equipment None 1x CMS Surgical Kit

Note that prior to June 2022 (Wipe patch 12.12.30) both of these quests had failure penalties where you would lose reputation with the trader you didn’t select. With this removed there is no consequences to your who to turn into decision.

Best Choice (Skier or Therapist)

Skier is the best choice between Kind of Sabotage or Supply Plans as players will gain 105k more Roubles compared to Therapist which can be spent on loadout kits for your next raid to improve your survival odds. Skier also has fewer more difficult quests that give the extra reputation greater value than Therapist who has an abundance of easier quests to gain the necessary reputation to level up these traders. The value of the CMS Surgical Kit provided by Therapist is also negligible as these can be readily crafted in the hideout medstation, purchased from the flea market when available or obtained from traders (Therapist and Jaeger).

Overall this makes the Kind of Sabotage or Supply Plans (Skier or Therapist) decision easier than other multiple choice quests in Escape From Tarkov compared to quests such as Chemical Part 4 that have three options with different mixes of rewards and subsequent quests to consider.

From a solely lore perspective Skier is seen as the bad option with players passing on vital information for Skier to sell rather than using it to help Therapist potentially save lives by acquiring food for civilians. Therapist is also the first trader to request players obtain the folder from Woods with Skier then suggesting players give him the folder instead for a large Rouble reward.
