Borrowing the story of a stolen princess players take control of Shaves as he fights past spiders, crocodiles, dragons, snakes, frogs, births, bees, snails and countless other enemy types to rescue her. You’ll encounter these enemies over 4 different settings, each with 20 levels to conquer by reaching the end of the level. Chaves Adventures even includes underwater levels and stumps to take you underground, making it feel very much like the Mario titles it’s trying to capture.

In order to do so you’ll have to jump on enemies, push snail shells and collect coins. Based on your performance you’ll also earn up to 3 stars which encourages you to replay levels more than once. Contained within some levels you’ll also find 8 bosses for an extra challenge.

To power up Chaves you can hunt down silver apples to become Super Silver Chaves who can destroy bricks with his head. Additionally if you can find a golden flower you’ll turn into Super Golden Chaves capable of firing a deadly balls at enemies rather than relying solely on the squashing.

Every element of Chaves Adventures is finely crafted and the level design particularly holds up from level 1 all the way to level 80. With enemies also changing regularly and the odd boss level you’ll always feel engaged.

Summary:

  • Mario inspired platformer for Android.
  • 80 high quality levels across 4 settings.
  • Squash a large variety of enemies and bosses.
  • Attempt to earn 3 stars in every level.
  • Free to play.
