Games Like Risk of Rain Our assorted list of games like Risk of Rain features other experiences that blend platforming, roguelike elements and fast paced gameplay into a single challenging title.

Risk of Rain was a Kickstarter funded indie hit that launched in late 2013 for the Windows platform before eventually expanding to console platforms and a sequel in 2020. While the games in the Risk of Rain series have similar core mechanics the sequel shifted the 2D perspective of the original into the 3D realm. In these adventures players will guide their spaceship survivor on a strange planet as they adventure through randomised levels packed with enemies and items which serve both defensive and offensive purposes.

Players select from several different characters for this space adventure that each come with their own stats and style to gameplay to provide a wealth of depth and variety. In each level players have a simple objective to locate the teleporter at a random location to move into the next area. With enemies getting more ferocious with time players must balance the risks of staying to farm an area with the rewards of extra experience, money and items that may be vital for long term survival against greater threats.
