Valiant Hearts: The Great War offers a tear jerking story adventure with a few basic puzzles to deliver an intense experience on multiplayer platforms. Following the story of several characters through World War I it’s also a historically accurate game.

Through additional collectible items (optional) a number of further facts of the war are unlocked as the game advances.

This Great War adventure is split between four game chapters and four unique characters, Emile from France, a German named called, an American soldier Freddie and Anna the nurse from Belgian. Exploring the impact that the war has on these characters and those connected to them each line of narration hits home.

Throughout the chapters players will encounter a number of puzzles that usually require a particular item to advance. These aren’t particularly difficult and more used a story telling technique than anything. Additionally the game features a hint mechanic to ensure you’re never stuck somewhere for too long.

In order to advance through the story you’ll also need to combine the unique traits of each character with the ability to perform melee attacks and throw a variety of objects. Traits include a shovel to to dig in soft ground, shears to cut barbed wire and the ability to treat wounds. On top of these puzzles there are a number of stealth, war and car sequences to give the game a decent amount of variety.
